The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) took over Las Vegas for the first week of January again this year, and it resulted in the usual predictable and nearly obligatory flood of “cool tech” coverage spilling out into every media outlet to scream Happy New Year to “Techies” all over the world. Somehow, though, is it just me, or did all of those new techie toys not seem quite as bright and shinny as usual this year?
Anyway, there was one new toy that did manage to catch my jaded eye. It isn’t a huge shocker that it is from LEGO 🙂
The news of this toy reminded me of another even cooler “LEGO thing” that I had seen recently — check out this 360° YouTube video (press and hold to explore it).
This video is particularly impressive because it was created entirely in Lego Digital Designer which is a free tool that was created and distributed by the LEGO company itself. Here is a video that gives you a sense of how it works.
Finally, while I was researching this post, I tripped over yet another fun gem. Check out this awesome history of LEGO done in the animation style of Santa Clause is Coming to Town.
