A fun trend that has emerged along with the wider availability of 360° video and consumer VR headsets is the tendency for Hollywood movie studios to release some form of promotional trailer or experience in the YouTube 360° format for their blockbuster films.
The latest example is this clip for Kong: Skull Island that let’s you get up close and personal with the king himself (you may want to watch it twice to be sure you catch all of it).
Another recent example is this clip that let’s you experience a scene from Arrival.
A bit older example is this clip that let’s you take a ride from Pete’s Dragon.
This is certainly not the deepest and most innovative use of 360° video, but it does provide a bit of light fun that might also introduce some new users to the 360° video format that might not have known about it otherwise, so enjoy and share!
