Given the weather in Boston, it’s no shocker that a story about Belize caught my eye. It was about Belize’s Great Blue Hole, and more specifically, about a mission to explore it that took place late last year. The mission got a lot of attention at the time because the crew included Richard Branson and Fabien Cousteau. It was also broadcast on Discovery.
Here’s a promo for that by another well known crew member, Shark Week’s Luke Tipple.
You can still watch the original broadcast, too!

The mission is back in the news because some results have just been released, and here’s a video about those narrated by the mission’s Chief Pilot, Erika Bergman.
Here’s the press release and the story that originally caught my eye from Forbes.

In case you were wondering, yes, you can go diving in the Great Blue Hole. Here’s a brief promo for that from Travel Insider.
Of course, there’s great diving with tons of blue to be seen in Belize beyond the Blue Hole. Here’s a lovely 360° video from MIT’s Edgerton Center and Boston’s Museum of Science that takes you on a dive to see the coral reefs at Glover’s Reef Research Station
So, what do you think the chances are that doing research about something blue in Belize won’t bring up some other distracting videos? For example, I tripped over this beautiful promo for Chabil Mar Resort.
Given the weather heading in this week, I’ve definitely got the Belize blues!

Oh no, are the Belize blues contagious?
If they are, and you’ve caught them now too, and you’re in a position to go for a cure, here are some helpful links.

Heck, a Belize break would be great, but another really distracting story in the news this week was that TripAdvisor has released the 2019 edition of the World’s Best Beaches.

I hope you’ve enjoyed all of this distraction as much as I did 🙂
